ABOUT THE WORK
How we reupholster
the Swan.
The Swan was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen together with the Egg. The chair has no straight lines, which is exactly why reupholstering it is precision work: the cover must follow the shell without folds and without pulling.
We remove the old cover and foam, check the shell and swivel base and build the upholstery up again layer by layer. The cover is sewn in panels that follow the curves of the chair. The chair comes back with a serviced swivel base, so it stands and turns as it should.
Leather gives the Swan its classic look, while wool and bouclé give a softer, more contemporary feel. We advise based on the room the chair will stand in and how much it is used.

The piece is dropped off in the store or collected by arrangement. We agree a delivery time once we have seen it.

You get the piece back, reupholstered and serviced. We stand behind the work and advise on care.

How long does reupholstery take?
The delivery time depends on the piece, the material and how many pieces we have in the workshop. We give an expected delivery time once we have seen the piece and the material has been chosen.
Do you collect and deliver furniture?
Yes. Furniture can be dropped off in our stores in Copenhagen K, Østerbro, Roskilde and Aalborg or collected by arrangement. Delivery on Zealand and to Funen, Jutland and islands with a bridge is agreed together with the quote.
Can you reupholster copies and furniture from other manufacturers?
Yes. We reupholster design furniture from Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Søn, Erik Jørgensen and other manufacturers as well as ordinary sofas and chairs. The prices on this page apply to the original models; other furniture is quoted from pictures.
Which materials can I choose?
Aniline and semi-aniline leather from Sørensen Leather in many colours, wool and bouclé from Danish suppliers and hard-wearing upholstery fabrics. We advise on what suits the piece and how much it is used.
Can I buy a reupholstered chair instead?
Yes. In the online shop we sell used and newly reupholstered Series 7 chairs and other classics straight away, and we also buy used design furniture.
