WHAT AFFECTS THE PRICE

Five things
you should know.

01

The cover

Standard fabric is at the low end of the range. Leather, aniline leather in special colours, patterned fabric and fabrics that need pattern matching are at the high end, because they take more material and more time.

02

Number of chairs

The price is per chair. Six identical chairs do not lower the lowest price, but we give a combined quote when you send pictures of the whole set.

03

Condition of the chair

Loose shells, cracks in the veneer, rusty frames and broken fittings are repaired before we upholster. This moves the price towards the high end and is priced from pictures or an inspection in the store.

04

Armrests and variants

The Series 7 with armrests (3207), the bar stool and the office chair need more cover and sewing than the dining chair 3107. Count on the high end of the range.

05

Delivery

Pickup in store is free. Delivery on Zealand costs DKK 300 and to Funen, Jutland and islands with a bridge DKK 500 per order.

You get the piece back, reupholstered and serviced. We stand behind the work and advise on care.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What people ask
before they order.

What does it cost to have a Series 7 chair reupholstered?

From DKK 1,500 up to DKK 2,800 per chair incl. VAT at Danske Design Møbler. The low end is standard fabric on a chair in good condition, the high end leather or special fabrics. The price covers removing the old cover, new foam, a new cover and re-tightening the shell.

Is it cheaper to buy a reupholstered Series 7 chair than to have my own reupholstered?

It depends on the chair. A used, newly reupholstered Series 7 in the online shop costs from around DKK 2,800, while reupholstering your own costs from DKK 1,500. If you have original chairs in good condition, reupholstery is almost always the better deal.

What does it cost to reupholster the Swan and the Egg?

The Swan DKK 8,500 to DKK 15,500 and the Egg DKK 15,000 to DKK 25,500 per piece incl. VAT, depending on cover and condition. A footstool for the Egg is priced together with the chair.

How long does it take?

We give an expected delivery time once we have seen the piece and the material has been chosen. The time depends on the material and on how many pieces are in the workshop.

Can I get a fixed price before I hand in the chair?

Yes. Send a few pictures of the chair and the cover via the form, and we reply with a fixed price within the range and a delivery time. The price holds unless the chair turns out to have damage we could not see in the pictures.

Do you also reupholster copies?

Yes, but the prices here apply to the original Fritz Hansen models. Copies and furniture from other manufacturers are quoted from pictures.
